'Ludovic' is a small tree with an almost round crown with a height of 3-5 m, in some cases higher (7-8 m). It is a moderately strong grower whose stem branches grow fairly horizontally to slightly steeply upwards. The young twigs are felt-like hairy and the old bark is black-brown The ovoid to oval leaves are dark green and 5-8 cm in size. Flowering is around early to mid-May, as in the species. The flowers are white to soft pink and 4-5 cm in size. The edible fruits ripen in the first half of October. These are apple-shaped to inverted ovoid, greenish yellow to yellow and 6-8 cm in size. The productivity of 'Ludovic' as a young tree is already regular and quite good. Besides its good fruiting, this cultivar is little susceptible to mildew. Hardiness zone 5a
