Fagus sylvatica 'Miltonensis' is an uncommon medium-sized tree with slightly weeping branches. 'Miltonensis' can attain a height of 8 - 12 m. When maturing the older branches become more weeping, creating a very spreading crown, and requiring a lot of space. The habit is less regular than of 'Pendula'. The oval to round leaves are green and turn to brown yellow in autumn. Thrives well in calcareous, but moisture-retentive soil. The soil must be well-drained and rich in humus content. Winter hardiness zone: 5b
