Fagus sylvatica 'Quercifolia' is a fairly tall tree with a spreading spherical crown. Height circa 20 m. The green leaf has some resemblance with that of the oak (Quercus). It is ovate to oblong and has short, wide lobes. The margin is sometimes toothed. The leaf has a very regular shape and turns yellow brown in autumn. Inconspicuous flowering. 'Quercifolia' thrives in soil that is not too wet, well-drained and rich in humus content. Suitable as a park tree and a solitary. Moderate wind resistance. Winter hardiness zone: 5b
