A rarity that catches the eye because of its peculiar habit. 'Remillyensis' has an umbrella-like habit with twisted branches. The limbs droop, so that a weeping look is generated. The eventual height depends on the height of the graft union. It is a seldom grown cultivar. The leaf is shiny green and turns to yellow brown in autumn. The inflorescence is inconspicuous and is followed by small nutlets. This cultivar is used as a solitary in small gardens and parks. 'Remillyensis' prefers calcareous, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil that is high in humus content. The tree is intolerant to hard surfaces and a high water table. Winter hardiness zone: 5b
