Ginkgo biloba 'Obelisk' is a medium to large tree with a very narrow columnar crown that grows 15 to 20 m high. The branches grow almost perpendicularly upwards, creating a very closed crown. The fan-shaped leaves are light green when unfurling and turn darker in summer. The autumn colour is yellow. Its very narrow shape makes the tree suitable for use in narrow streets, (town) squares and in shopping centres. Like other Ginkgo trees, 'Obelisk' is suitable for all soil types and tolerates paving. Obelisk' is reasonably to well resistant to wind and very hardy. Hardiness zone: 5a
