Gleditsia triacanthos 'Green Glory' is a strong-growing, large tree with a height of 15-23 m. 'Green Glory' forms a good continuous heart branch and regular branching creates a pyramidal crown that later becomes broad pyramidal. These characteristics make 'Green Glory' a good avenue tree. Because the tree is not too wide, it is less susceptible to wind than some other cultivars. The old bark is grey and grooved. The leaves are green and apart from the growth habit, the tree has no specific ornamental value. The leaves sprout slightly later in spring than in other cultivars, making it less susceptible to damage from night frost. Gleditsia triacanthos 'Green Glory' does flower, but rarely forms fruit.
