Juglans regia 'Buccaneer' is a vigorous and strong grower with a broad, ascending, open crown and a height of 20 - 30 m. The trunk, branches and leaves are identical to those of the species. After the emergence of the leaves the male and female flowers appear. The flowering periods overlap so that pollination always occurs. Because it produces large quantities of pollen 'Buccaneer' is a good pollinator for other cultivars, especially 'Broadview'. 'Buccaneer' produces fruit at a reasonably young age. The fruit is particularly tasty. Winter hardiness zone: 5b
