Malus domestica 'Gelber Bellefleur' is a medium-growing tree with a semi-open, broadly vase-shaped to almost round crown. Its final height will be around 6-8 m. The blossom, in April, is bright pink, an additional ornamental value of this consumption apple. It is a late ripening apple that cannot be picked until October. The apples are large and cone-shaped. The colour is yellow, usually with a red blush. The flesh is medium firm. The taste is pleasantly sweet-sour and aromatic. 'Gelber Bellefleur' is a versatile apple, suitable as a hand apple as well as in dishes and in apple pie. Although this cultivar is popularly called 'Bellefleur', the correct name is 'Gelber Bellefleur'. Hardiness zone 6.
