'Kaiser Wilhelm' is a medium-sized apple tree that grows moderately fast. The crown is semi-open and oval in shape. The tree will grow (5)6-8 m tall. The flower buds are dark pink and the flowers, which open in April, are light pink. Apples can be picked from around mid-September. These are regular in shape, medium-sized and round to slightly elongated. The colour is greenish-yellow to golden yellow with a large red blush on the sunny side. The flesh is yellowish-white, very juicy and pleasantly aromatic. 'Kaiser Wilhelm' can be used as a hand apple, but it also keeps for a long time and is therefore versatile. The apples are not very prone to bruising and can be used for purée, pies or as a cooking apple. This makes this cultivar fine for use in private gardens. 'Kaiser Wilhelm' was found in Germany around 1864. Hardiness zone 6.
