'Keuleman' is a medium-sized apple tree that grows moderately fast. The semi-open, round crown grows (5)6-8 m tall. The white-pink flowers open in May. The flower buds are light pinkish-red. The apples are ready for picking late in the season, around the end of October to mid-November. They are regular in shape, round and small to medium in size. The colour is green with a carmine blush and streaks. The yellowish-white flesh is firm, quite dry and has hardly any aroma. The flavour is acidic. 'Keuleman' is a pronounced storage apple. The name is probably a corruption of 'kuileman', referring to the fact that apples used to be ensiled, like potatoes. Not recommended as a hand apple, but all the more so as a cooking/boiling apple.
This cultivar probably originated in Germany. Hardiness zone 6.
