Medium-size tree selected because of its quite compact regularly shaped, narrow pyramidal crown. After 15 years, the original tree was 8 m tall: it is expected to grow to 10 to 12 m eventually. The twigs and bark are the same as the species. The leaves are oval to elongated, glossy green and at 5 - 11 cm slightly larger than the species. In late autumn the leaf turns greenish-yellow before it falls. The flowers open in June. Like the species they are white with yellow stamens with a strong and pleasant fragrance. The tree usually blossoms very abundantly making it very bee friendly. The flowers are followed by hard, ovoid grey-green drupes with a dark green calyx. Thanks to its regular and narrow pyramidal crown, ‘June Snow’ is very suitable for green borders, long avenues and gardens.
