A small tree that is narrow columnar at first, but spreads out later. At around 3 m it remains significantly smaller than the green T. baccata ‘Fastigiata’. Its compact growth means it produces a very dense crown. The branches grow straight up. The young twigs are green-yellow, the old bark is brown-red and flaking. The yellow to creamy white variegated needles are arranged in a spiral and around 3 cm long and 0.3 cm wide. The blossom is male so no fruit is produced. Suitable for parks, cemeteries and gardens. It is also found under the synonyms ‘Fastigiata Aurea’ and ‘Fastigiata Mediovariegata’.
