Fraxinus pennsylvanica 'Zundert' is a fast-growing selection. The regular, upright growing crown is narrow oval at first but becomes more spreading later. Can attain a height of 15 - 18 m. The odd-pinnate leaves are mat-shiny deep green, circa 30 cm large and have a yellow autumn colour. 'Zundert' is a male variety and as a consequence fruitless. Suitable as an avenue and street tree for wider profiles and green verges and in open hard surfaces. Prefers moist, rich, open soils. Winter hardiness zone: 4
